Broadway Gala

We are excited to invite the community to join us at the Oasis in the Starlight Terrace Room on Sept 25 from 6:30 to 9:30. Mr. Poynor fondly remembers the fundraising event his high school choir put on and wants to replicate it for our students. The opportunity to perform is reserved for those in a varsity ensemble.

The evening will be a great chance to mingle with other choir families, but more importantly, take this opportunity to invite others in your circle to join you for a stellar evening of good food and quality entertainment. What a great opportunity for a fun evening close to home!

We hope that this event will grow to be one the Lake Travis community looks forward to year after year. Our goal is to make this event our major fundraiser in the coming years.

Congratulations! Students of the Month

Each month the directors honor students who go above and beyond through preparation, leadership, musical growth, kindness, and commitment to their choir class and the choir program as a whole. This is just one way we hope to celebrate the many forms of excellence that make our choir community strong. These students are entered in a raffle to win a summer choir camp partial scholarship. Join us in congratulating the first group recognized this school year!

Support Opportunities

Help the choir program shine

This month many students will begin the TMEA All-State audition process at the district competition. All Varsity students are required to audition this year. JV students and freshmen are also encouraged to try out, so mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 19th at Leander High School. Those who advance to the next round will audition for region at our own Lake Travis High School on October 17. We need parent volunteers that day for concessions and as room/hall monitors.

Getting to know each other makes working with choir even more fun, so please join us at Hops & Thyme on Friday, Sept. 11 from 6:30 to 8:30. A portion of sales that night will be donated to the choir program. All choir families are welcome and we can’t wait to see you.

We have spirit nights throughout the year at local restaurants. This month is P. Terry’s on Monday, Sept. 28 from 4-8 PM. No code needed, just order and enjoy!

Welcome to Choir

Welcome to the ‘26/’27 season of Lake Travis Choir! Whether this is your student’s first time in the program, or if they’ve been part of Cav Choir for several years, we’re thrilled that your family is here.

The purpose of our Booster Club is to support our directors and students and enrich the choir experience. There will be opportunities for families to take part throughout the year by volunteering, attending concerts, or participating in our fundraiser.

Our inaugural Broadway Gala will take place at the Oasis on September 25, and is our primary fundraiser this year. This swanky night includes a sit-down dinner and varsity student performances of Broadway songs. This is a terrific chance to invite friends, family, and community members to experience the choir’s talents and support our program. You can find information here: Broadway Gala.

I’m excited to meet our new families and reconnect with returning ones. We’ll see you at the Required Parent Meeting August 27 and don’t forget to swing by All Star Burger before the meeting and let them know you’re there for the LTHS Choir Spirit Night!

Volunteers Make Our Choir Year Successful

Get to know the choir family

If you’re new to choir you may not realize how many programs the booster club supports. We love to have all our choir parents involved, so please consider volunteering your time and talents at one of our events this year.

Love Lunch and Capes & Crowns are excellent ways to help and see the students sing solos for staff at the high school and the community at large. We also need parents support before concerts. The students stay after school on concert days, so you can plan to arrive at any time before the show if you’re available to help with serving meals or setting out reserved seating banners.

The student-led choir council will keep the classes informed about volunteer opportunities they can join in on. Volunteer hours are one way to get points toward a letter jacket, so make sure your student is involved!

Get Ready for All-State!

It’s almost summertime and that means it’s time to start thinking about competition season. The music has been released and camps all over the state are registering campers. All students are encouraged to audition, which starts at the district level in September.

We have two local camps that Mrs. Fletcher is involved with and students often attend. Texas State has an overnight camp (with a commuter option) June 28-July 1; registration closes on June 1st. A discount code for staff member’s students is CLINICIAN26.

Mrs. Fletcher’s day camp is July 27-30 at Westlake Hills Presbyterian and is now open for registration. This camp will be similar to the camp she ran the past few years in Northwest Austin.

Thanks for a Great Year!

The board would like to thank all our choir families for their involvement over the 2025-26 school year. We have helped host successful events such as TMEA region auditions, the HOCO booth, Love Lunch, Banquet, and more. We couldn’t do it without the family volunteers, Choir Council, and student involvement. We look forward to next year with many of you, and good luck to all our grads!
